After searching on "Best Auto Transports" online, I found 5-6 of the 'major' ones and called them for quotes (transfer a small sedan from Albuquerque NM to Tampa Florida). Quotes averaged 1450-1500, low of 1159, high of 1725. Orange wasn't listed - they sure should have been. (Esp from Yelp reviews). Orange came in $200 under the lowest, and unlike the others didn't 'hem and haw' about how the final charge may vary (contracted drivers, diesel fuel, destination charge, etc).. Everything was up front - no vagaries. If pickup was within 7 days of quote the fee was the same - even if diesel tripled. $100 to reserve a slot with one of their independent contractor/drivers - he picked up within 2 days. And the balance when the driver delivered the car - which he did, on the exact day (3 days across the US), within 3 hours of ETA. 5 Stars, no BS. I "stumbled" upon Orange from other searches besides the one above - cant recall how I found them, but sure glad I did. Most of the reviews of the other "major" ones seemed either 1 or 5 star--Reviewing over Orange on Yelp (4.5 Stars) it was a lot more believable - very few on the low end (don't recall a bunch of 1's either) many 5s and some 4s. Everyone at Orange was easy to understand ( ;) ), and extremely friendly. Again, totally up front. Just a heads up - most all of the these auto transport companies are brokers - they arrange a 'slot' on a car carrier driven by independent owner/operators. Most have a business relationship with several they regularly use - others put the "load" (your car) up on a "load board" and independent drivers will then accept it (hence the vagaries in final price with some of the other guys). Orange's price was locked in for the 7 days after the quote - again, if the expense went up, they didn't charge more. Coming to Florida they used ALPs Trucking - another 5 stars. (yes the car above mine dripped some oil - it goes with a 2 tier carrier). I simply met them at a gas station, unloaded, paid them and in 20 mins was on my way (after a quick auto car wash). Driver had plenty of pictures of the car at pickup, just in case of any rocks, roadway dings enroute (there were none). 5 Stars all the way. Couldn't imagine a smoother, faster, on-time experience with Orange / ALPs Trucking.
