Everything went just about perfect. First time ever in my 47 years buying a car from a dealer. The internet has really changed how to shop. Shopped around on transports or flying out and driving it home. Decided time wise it worked out better to ship the car. I had quotes from $600.00 to $1050. I got the quote a few weeks ahead. Most places you deal with are brokers so I narrowed it down to people that clearly tell me how they choose their drivers. That eliminated many similar to the awful car dealers that are out there. Orange Auto Transport gave me a lot of detail on their driver ratings. I felt confident that they would do a god job. Orange Auto also had a fair price. One other company I really liked wanted $1050. Just because you are buying a car don't let people over charge you. If you do the math the trucker and Broker make a decent amount at around $800 for a long haul.

Orange Auto set me up with Dave from Boise Transport 802-233-9942. He was awesome. I wanted someone that speaks decent English and knows what technology is. Like a cell phone. Dave was awesome and just that. It was set up to pick up Friday and delivery Tuesday. I decided Monday night would work and let Orange know they could tell Dave Monday night was an option. Orange said that the driver Dave asked about Monday night. Nice to see a company know their drivers like that. I called Dave early Monday and he said it would be late like midnight and Dave asked if I wanted to wait until Tuesday. I said late was fine and we deiced on a midnight drop at a grocery store parking lot with lights and where I would not P O my neighbors. I checked with him at 8PM and he said it would be closer to 1:30 AM. I said that was fine. I went to bed set my alarm to 1AM and called Dave. Dave was still on Target for 1:30. I jumped on my pedal bike and rode to the store. Dave was right on time and we unloaded some cars and then mine. Dave was an awesome guy and although my car was dirty from 1500+ rode miles the car was perfect. I paid Dave and loaded my bike in the car and headed home. Wife loves the newer car.
I was very happy with Orange Auto and Dave from Boise Transport.
My advice for car transports:
Get some quotes and do the research on companies on multiple web sights. In fact Transport Reviews did not rate Orange Auto very high but my overall research said they were very good.
Once you narrow it down pick up a phone and call the 3 best and ask questions. If they don't know their job really well eliminate them and move on. Don't think you need to pay a lot to get a good job done. But don't think anybody will do it for peanuts either. Also understand the industry. Most complaints seem related to delivery time. Have these people ever left their county? There are so many variables that a driver can run into it's impossible to count like weather, late customers, highway construction etc...etc.... You need to be flexible. They should be expected to communicate via cell phone and provide updates.
Can't wait to drive my car some more. Hopefully the wife doesn't notice it missing.
