Typical Service Outsourcer

My Vehicle was transported in an open carrier (that was my choice). It arrived with a large chip in the windshield even though it was hauled on the top of the transport. The driver, while very kind, implied that if I wanted to claim it it would come out of his pocket personally and that his insurance did not cover such things. It being only a chip (but a rather large one) I was put in the position of being sympathetic to his plight or demand he fix it anyway. I chose not to pursue it even though I am very disappointed that my "classic vehicle" arrived damaged.

Overall the experience with the outsourcer, in this case was fine. I had hoped to find a provider who handled the transport themselves rather than outsourcing it because once it is outsourced all liability goes to whomever the transport company outsourced the service to. Then you get what you get. While the service coordinator assured me all precautions would be taken and his response and coordination prompt, in then end I felt like I took to great a chance by using an outsourcing company. Next time I will pursue a transport company that provided the service themselves and takes more precautions AND I will pay the extra for enclosed transport.
