This company does not actual do any "moving" of your goods. They set up a contract with you then they set up the move with any moving company that will do it the cheapest (regardless what Nationwide is charging you) and that company does the actual "move", i.e. pack your things, load the truck, transport and unload. My son was moving from Detroit, MI to Sacramento, CA. My contact was Bruce who gave me my estimates of pick up and delivery. He was helpful with trying to pick the right day for pickup because delivery by a certain time frame was very important. He stressed to me that communication was the key and he would do everything to help us get delivery in a timely manner. I paid 820.00 for the downpayment The truck arrived on a Monday within the estimated time, our things were loaded and then when we asked the driver what he thought we could expect as a delivery date, he informed us he was taking my son's shipment to Chicago for delivery on Thursday where they would crate his belongings until a truck going west would be available to take it further. We were not told our things would go on and off trucks and into and out of crates. I called Bruce immediately to get an explanation and called him multiple times a day for 3 days and he never returned my calls. On Friday afternoon I finally spoke to someone at Nationwide who confirmed my sons belongings had arrived to a warehouse in Chicago. I was given a number there in order to get info as to when and where his things would go from there. They had no idea when it would make it on a truck going west and could not guarantee it would only go on to one more truck. It was so important that my sons things arrive on a timely basis (or he would have the added expense of living in a hotel until his things arrived) that we flew to Chicago, rented a UHaul truck, picked up his things and drove to Sacramento ourselves. But, in order to retrieve his belongings we had to pay the moving company that actual did the work $1400 for picking up his things, transporting them to Chicago and crating them after they came off the truck.. Nationwide is only a broker and they had not paid the moving company. At no point after countless calls and messages did anyone from Nationwide Relocation call us back. So Nationwide made $820 for doing absolutely nothing but contacting a moving company and handing off my son's move. Please do not make a terrible mistake and use this company!!
