I moved across the country this month, and after much deliberation I decided that the most cost effective and easiest method would be to ship my car while I flew across the country. I did a lot of researching online to find a car company that seemed reliable and cheap. About 20 different car companies called me on the phone after I put my phone number into a car shipping search engine. Many of those companies called me repeatedly, and often at inconvenient times. I guess many companies did not consider the time zone when placing their calls. Move on Time seemed to be the politest and willing to answer my questions.

Move on Time TOLD me I could use credit card to pay for my car to be transported. I asked several times and was assured repeatedly that it was no problem to use a credit card, that they would make sure to find a vehicle transporter that was capable of accepting credit cards. So, with that verbal reassurance, I paid $150 down payment. AFTER I already paid and signed an agreement to pay the additional $1000 when my car arrived, I found out that the rest of the payment could ONLY be made with cash or cashier's check. I was VERY upset about this and spent quite a while on the phone with both Move on Time (the broker) and Pioneer Auto (the actual mover of the car.) Pioneer was awesome and very nice, but unable to accept any sort of credit card payment. Since I had already paid a deposit, I felt that I had to stay with Move on Time even though they had lied to me. It was as if the person I spoke to (Melissa) on the phone didn't care at all about my situation, she was only concerned about making the sale.

Furthermore, I was reassured MANY MANY times that Move on Time ALWAYS delivers cars within 6-8 days. I asked what happened if my vehicle took longer, and she refused to give any answer other than "It only takes 6-8 days no matter what." Pioneer Auto called and said they could pick my car up in Los Angeles 3 days ahead of schedule, which was slightly inconvient for me, but I was happy to be able to get my car back to me sooner so I accepted the change of plans with a smile. But when Pioneer got to my house, I asked to confirm how longer the car shipping takes. The driver said that all cross country trips take between 7-12 days!! And he then said 7-12 BUSINESS DAYS, so really it would take even longer! I was very angry at Move on Time for so cavelierly quoting me a shorter time. Again, I feel that I was LIED to just for the saleswoman to make a sale. Luckily, the driver took a look at his sheet of paper and told me, "Honestly, based on the other vehicles on the list, your car should arrive within one week." But it just as easily could have been 12 BUSINESS days, or well over two weeks--not at ALL the quoted 6-8 days!

Overall, I was VERY pleased with Pioneer Auto Transport. I would definitely have my car transported with them again. They called me to update me on where my car was and to give me updated delivery times. It arrived one week and one day after they picked it up, which I figured was an acceptable amount of time, especially since I hadn't even arrived in NC by that point. They were unable to deliver the car to the house I wanted it delivered to because of low hanging trees in the neighborhood, so I was a little annoyed that I had paid for "door to door delivery" when it wasn't actually delivered to my boyfriend's door. My boyfriend had to walk at 9:30pm a half a mile a way and wait for my car to arrive. I understand that the vehicle was unable to drive beneath low hanging trees, but I felt that it should have been made more clear that "door to door" just means "somewhere close to somewhere close."

If I ever have the need to move my car again, I would definitely contact Pioneer Auto--but I would contact them directly. I would NOT contact Move on Time again, nor would I recommend them to a friend. If Melissa, the saleswoman on the phone, had been honest with me and upfront about the car shipping, I would still have used the company and would have been MUCH happier with it.
