In January I got a verbal quote from Leroy at Move On Time of $899 to transport a motorcycle in a closed trailer.
On February 18 when I finalized the transaction with Leroy the quote was $1150 - supposedly due to higher fuel costs!!?? I have a written contract that specifies the motorcycle would be transported in a closed trailer. It left Indiana Feb 25 and arrived at my houyse on March 2.
It was in an open trailer covered with an old car cover and wrapped in packing tape which the driver had supplied. My brand new motorcycle was filthy and covered with road salts. I
asked the driver why it was not in a closed trailer as contracted and he showed me his paperwork from Move On Time. It was identical to my copy except where mine says "yes" in the closed trailer space , his says "no". I have pictures and copies to prove all of this.
On March 3 I called Leroy to request a price adjustment and I asked what the rate would
have been to transport the bike in an open trailer. He refused both requests. I have made
numerous requests and phone calls to Move On Time and have been told someone will call
me back but they never do. They cannot or will not explain why the driver and I have
different contracts and refuse to make a price adjustment.
