Overall the service was great. Laura knows the business, was quick with responses and was courteous. The one complaint I have is not about Laura and Motor Movers in particular, but with the overall process. You get a quote from the broker and then they shop your offer around, which is the quote amount minus the broker fee, unless you want to change it. Makes sense. The problem is that the trucking companies do not reply until a few days before your scheduled pickup date, so if the truckers offer back is higher than what you were quoted, you have little to no time to continue shopping around. Typically in these situations you have limited flexibility around your pickup date, and being that the offer comes in so close to the scheduled pickup date, you really have little choice but to pay the higher offer that came back. Some people might want to chance it with another counter offer, or wait for another trucking company to make an offer for the number the broker put out to the trucking companies, but it was already too close to the scheduled pickup date for me, so I paid the higher counter offer.
