NEVER Pay Up Front!

I’ve shipped my car across the county 5 times and this was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever encountered. I selected this company based on the number of positive reviews and paid upfront because my job was paying for it as part of a bonus for work I’ve done. I needed the car delivered prior to coming home from the hospital post spine surgery. The pickup date was confirmed and never picked up by the driver. This happened a total of 3 times before finally being picked up. All while I’m having surgery since it kept being pushed back at this point. Once picked up, the driver never communicated to me or confirmed my address. When I was able to use the phone and felt well enough, I reached out to him and he spoke next to NO English, thank god my father is fluent in Spanish. The delivery date and time was now (a week away) Friday at 5p...then 11p or 12a. Never showed up. The next day he asked me to confirm my address and he said he did not have the right address and that he was near Orlando (I’m in Miami) so he would drop off the cars that were closer to where he now was, and needed to go north first. He said he would be here in the evening. We knew it was too far away and would never make it, so of course no call and Never showed up. After one more day of excuses and apparently not having the ability to gauge time or distance, he dropped all but one other car off and mine before finally delivering my car on Sunday night, with a gash in the front passenger side tire about 3 inches. He proceeded to explain(to my father in Spanish) that this was not the 1st, nor 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th incident for that driver and he was no longer employing him. He bought a replacement tire but couldn’t get it put on due to the wheel lug nut lock. I could go on with more details but like I mentioned, I’m recovering from spine surgery and simply don’t have much more energy to dump into this as it’s already taken so much of mine as it is. One of the (several)drivers who I was informed my car was being transported by was very kind and understood my frustration and concerns of not having my car to transfer me from the hospital to the house as I couldn’t get in or out of the current suv we have. He told me I should “never, ever pay these companies up front” and he was 1000% right. Once they were paid I had no more leverage. I’ve never paid up front for car transport before, but I thought it may be a good option this time but soon realized they were very quick to take the $1000+, and absolutely nothing was quick or handled professionally after that. I am a radio personality and have been for 15yrs all over the world. I don’t typically mention this as I don’t wish to have people feel that I will use this for gain. But I do talk about my life and things going on. Good, bad and everything in between. I’m a good person and have always pride myself on that. This transport of my vehicle will go down as the worst and most unprofessional experience I’ve ever encountered. And while I know my one star review online will not impact the overall number for your company because of the thousands of positive reviews they have, I’m sure my voice and words of mouth will.

Hello Beth, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that was caused. We understand how important it was to have your vehicle in Miami. As stated in the booking email you received as well as our terms and conditions, our dates are estimated and not guaranteed. Your vehicle was being transported coast to coast and the carrier may be susceptible to delays outside of our control. We know that being communicated throughout the transport is very important and we apologize for the poor communication you received. The appropriate team has been informed and they will be addressing your concerns with the carrier. Please know that we offer two options to pay for your transport at the time of obtaining a quote. The first one would be the cash on delivery option where we would charge you a deposit to your credit card and the remaining balance would be paid directly to the driver at delivery. The second option, which is the one that was elected, would be to charge the total amount to your credit card and we would remit payment to the carrier after your vehicle has been delivered. We hope you're recovering quickly from your recent surgery and once again, we apologize for the mishap.
