Intense but Successful Process

I will start with, my car was picked up from me and delivered to my son successfully without incident. I have never done anything like this before, and I have learned so much about the "business of transporting cars." I spent a lot of time communicating with Montway both by phone and email. Their system of communication is quite good and thorough but not always immediate, which was personally challenging. They're a busy company, so patience is critical. I learned that my needed route was challenging (2500 miles), and it took longer to find a driver than anyone anticipated. It took more than 10 days to secure a plan. I also discovered that service is not truly door to door. The big transport trucks can't really navigate residential roads, and they need large parking lots or a truck stop to load and unload. Although I had an original quote, I also had to spend more $$ to entice someone to take my car. I learned that basically Montway is a "middle man." They handle all the paperwork, information, and insurance, but the transport request is put out to a general pool of drivers who can pick and choose the job based on many factors, including $$. This virtual board of requests is used by many companies like Montway, which I found interesting. I felt Montway did an excellent job vetting any potential driver, which is very important. If I did it again, I would initiate the process sooner knowing that it can take a while to find a driver for a more complicated route at certain times of year.
