The order was entered two weeks before the requested pickup window of 1/1 - 1/5/18. Not only did Montway not complete the assignment within this window, I was in daily contact for the following week trying to get the car picked up. To their credit, I was getting prompt responses to my calls and emails but no results. Finally, I get an "urgent" call telling me they had finally found a driver but that he wanted $200 more then the quote, which itself was 25% more then I paid Montway to have the same car shipped from California to Illinois in May of 2017! Reluctantly I immediately accepted the higher rate and assumed my problems were over. My mistake.

The assigned carrier, Express Lines Ltd. and the driver "Dante" then began giving me a runaround. The pickup date was not met and upon calling the driver was told that Montway had pulled the dispatch. Back to Montway: No we did not pull the dispatch. Back to Dante: "OK I will pick it up on Friday 1/12 and deliver it 1/15 or 1/16" When no car arrived on 1/16 I called "Dante". Where is my car: Answer "Enroute". What he didn't say is that he didn't leave Chicago until 1/15 and gave me no assurances when the car would be delivered. Back to Montway: Answer 'I'll check". No response.

On 1/20, three weeks after the opening of the pickup window, I finally received my car. Not from "Dante" who had apparently broken down in AZ but from another driver who Dante had passed the load off to!

Bottom line: A total breakdown of the system and a total disappointment in Montway for having strung me along and then dumped me onto an unreliable carrier. All sorts of excuses, just no performance. Oh, to their credit, Montway voluntarily dropped their brokerage fee from $199 to $149, still I paid over $250 extra to rent a car waiting for mine to be delivered and $200 more then my original quote for the shipment so, no I am not a happy camper and will not use Montway again. I am giving them one star for "effort" but that is probably being generous.
