I contacted Montway on Mar. 21st. I have never shipped a vehicle in the past. I needed to ship a 1985 Chevy C-10 from California to Ohio. I wasn't in a hurry to get the vehicle. The only requirement I had was to pick the vehicle up by 1pm Cali. time. I received an email on 3/28 saying they are still working on it. So, I called on 4/3, Montway said they are having trouble finding a trucker to pick up the vehicle. They wanted to know if we would drive the vehicle to LA and if we could change the delivery location to downtown Cleveland because the trucker did not want to pick it up 30 miles out of the city. So, we changed the destination not the pick up area. I was quoted 950.00 and was told it would be anywhere from 750-900 but to put 950 in the bid so a trucker would pick it up quicker. April 7th rolled around and I called Montway again, they still didn't have anyone available. Not once have they called me to update me in the process, they just sent automated emails that go out to all the customers when they are in a certain part of the delivery time line.

Montway called me on April 9th and said they found a trucker who would do it for 1050.00 and he could pick it up on April 10. I called my husband to get the go ahead since it was more. I called Montway back and told them "let's do it" then they told me it was 1,150 not 1,050. I wasn't going to argue over $100 so we went ahead and agreed and again expressed that we needed the truck picked up by 1pm no later.

On April 10th, the day the truck was supposed to be picked. I called Montway at 10:30 Cali time. I asked them what time the trucker was coming, he did not contact me once to make arrangements at all. Montway called him and he said there was no way he could pick the vehicle up by 1pm. The guy who's house it was being picked up from had to go to work. He couldn't sit there and all day. This is a paid service we should be able to pin point the time..... I told the lady to cancel with that truck driver because it would not work. She said she would look for more companies. I said ok but I called back shortly after and told them just to cancel everything. They said ok.

I contacted Mark @ Motor Movers Auto Transport 480-448-2024, on April 10th to schedule a pick up with them. A few companies I called said Montway has not canceled my order so they can not help me. I called again to cancel the order, now they tell me I have to email it, which I did two days in a row because they did not remove my posting. Montway charged my card 150.00 even though I did not use their services. I called and emailed them and they told me the money was nonrefundable because the vehicle was not ready. NOT READY!!!!! WHAT!!!!

I spoke to Stella S. and we went back and fourth about the refund she refused to refund it so I have to dispute the charges with my credit card company. Which they totally agree with me and I have all the proof to back it up..

Long story short I called Motor Movers Auto Transport and got the vehicle picked up in two days and it arrived 4 days earlier than expected!!!! It did not take 3 weeks and still no truck!! I gave Montway plenty of time to find a reliable carrier!!


Very disappointed!!!! I hope they don't treat all their customers like that...

It is imperative that customers have a clear understanding of the terms they accept when entering a contractual agreement. Our terms are publicly published on our website, disclosed prior and during booking, written in the customer agreement and within all communications thereafter. We do not provide a 5 day window. We estimate assigning a carrier within 1 to 5 business days. Even though our estimations are highly accurate, just over 95%, we still inform customers we can only provide estimated dates. We want our customers to be clear on these terms so they can make any necessary personal arrangements. Our goal is to transport your vehicle, never to inconvenience our customers in any way. We estimate the dates for multiple reasons, reasons which impacts the entire transport industry. Traffic delays, detours, speed limits, weather delays, mandatory rest stops, pickup/delivery client availability delays, weight station checkups, police inspections, truck breakdowns, driver's health issues, are just some of the issues that cannot be anticipated. We understand this is potentially inconvenient for customers, so we combat that with information and keeping customers informed. Guaranteed pickup date service is also available, however at much higher cost to the customer. The additional fees for guaranteed pickup date service are customized for the specific vehicle size, weight, requested date - weekday vs. weekend day, pickup location - rural or city downtown vs. direct access to main route, etc. The additional fees are paid directly to the driver for his service to re-schedule all other pickups/drop-offs and ensure he makes it to the pickup location on the requested date. Unfortunately, this customer chose the economy shipping package, which only includes estimated dates. Regardless of that we had more than 10 agents dedicated working on this order and doing the impossible trying to accommodate the customer's request as well as provide him with exceptional customer support. We ship more than 500 cars a week, we know how important dates are for customers, which is why we always advise them based on their budget and schedule of all possible options - expedited service vs having a backup person to release/accept the vehicle for you, etc. Montway is 100% dedicated to the customer and our service and care is unmatched! Resolution was offered to the customer, Lisa Rose, and the customer never accepted it.
