I would have provided an excellent rating despite Montway offering me a "restaurant certificate". This is one of the most smooth and effortless transactions that I have experienced in dealing with an automobile. The vehicle had been in storage for the winter at SD Lyons Auto Storage in Seekonk, Massachusetts. It is an old RAV-4 (1996) but in excellent condition and we decided to ship it to California for our son's use - in CA the vehicle would cost ~$5000 and running condition would be questionable. So he gets an excellent car for ~$1300. Having heard horror stories about auto transport I did a lot of investigation ... consulting Dennis Lyons (the auto storage owner - very helpful and efficient), my Rover "guy" Richard at Rover Special Vehicles in Jamestown, RI (who ships cars regularly all over the world), another friend who had shipped cars from Washington State to Arizona and, finally, my friend and auto show organizer Pat (Duck) Burke. Each gave me some useful guidance which led me to Montway. My wife and I are thrilled with how easy it was to get the car to CA. As requested by Montway, I cited the "pickup" at LD Lyons - they assisted the Montway transport driver to load the car on a Monday - as scheduled. I was notified that the car was "underway" and the following Sunday received a call that the car would be delivered to our house in Glendale on Monday morning. It had been transferred to a two car carrier for local delivery. The driver let me know he was on schedule, arrived and drove the car off of the transport and parked it in the driveway; we inspected it (no issues) and everything was done! I'd definitely use Montway again and would highly and confidently recommend them to anyone shipping a vehicle.
