Mercury was good but I don't know about the shipper they used.

I spent a lot of time looking for the right auto carrier. Ultimately, I decided to go through Mercury Auto through the recommendation of a friend and I'm mostly glad that I did. Things on the Mercury end of things went well. They were prompt and responsible. They ended up putting me through to "An Accurate Auto Carrier", based out of NY. My early experiences with "An Accurate Auto Carrier" went well. The man in charge was responsible about getting in touch and we arranged for a pick-up point and it went swimmingly.

The day AFTER my car was supposed to arrive I gave him a call in the morning and got no answer. I was frustrated that I hadn't heard anything so I called again at night and was able to get in touch with him. I expected things to maybe run a few days behind because of a snowstorm in the midwest, but I would have liked a call on his end of things to let me know. He said he'd be four days behind, and I figured that was OK, because I assumed things wouldn't run on time.

He gave me a call the day before arrival and said he would be another day behind because of a communication lapse with another customer. Again, I expected things like that. The day came for him to drop off my car and I called him in the morning to nail down an ETA and a location. He said sometime in the afternoon in a city outside of my desired destination and a not very safe one either. Eventually, I decided to take public transportation to meet him further outside of the city and meet at a safe shopping area. He was supposed to arrive at 7pm and when I called him at 5pm, he finally informed me that I needed to pay by check or money order, which was the first I had heard of that! It was past bank hours and because I had just moved cross country, I didn't have a debit card at a local bank. Long story short, I had to take cash advances out on a couple of credit cards (for a fee of course) in order to get the money together to pay him with a money order.

He didn't arrive until 9:30 at a mall area that closed at 9pm. It would have been even worse if I had met him at the other location because he wouldn't have arrived until around 11pm and it was an unsafe area. Overall, he was very nice, but very poor about communication.

In summation, I was satisfied with things on the Mercury Auto end of things but they have to lose points because of the people that they work with. I would have been much more forgiving if communication was more forthright but the last 24 hours was such a hassle that I was at my wit's end with the situation.

My vehicle was unharmed in the transport.
