While my truck was ultimately picked up and delivered without any damage, I felt that the customer service was lacking, causing me a lot of extra stress at a time when I didn't need it. I contacted Mercury before Christmas to request transport on January 15. I was told it wouldn't be a problem to find a carrier since I was giving them so much time and they felt very confident that I could find someone for $775. I had to have the car picked up on the 15th as I was still using it for appointments on the 14th but was leaving the state on the 16th. On January 11, after concerned e-mails and phone calls from me, the manager of Mercury called to tell me that he was moving me up to priority status as there were no bids yet. They found my carrier on the 12th, for $900- $125 more than expected but since time was running out I had no choice. I was told they would pick up the car on the 15th between 1 and 4 p.m. I heard nothing else until the 15th, when the carrier called to say they would arrive around 7 p.m. I then got another call at 7 saying they were on their way and they did not arrive until 9:30 p.m. Their only excuse was heavy traffic. When the car was delivered, I received a call from Mercury first saying that the carrier had called me to schedule the pickup; however I did not actually get a call from the carrier until an hour and a half later. Since the carrier insists on cash or money order, they should not call at 8:30 p.m. to say they will be there early the next morning. (They couldn't give me any more exact time frame.) They called at 7:45 to say they were 10 minutes away and did not have the updated address that I had given to Mercury the night before for drop-off. I was also surprised that the carrier asked for no identification or signature before giving me the keys to my vehicle.
