I was needing to get my 1968 Firebird transported from Ca. to Ky and looking for enclosed transport. After communicating with many different transport services(Brokers) and finding several in the average and acceptable price range for enclosed transport I decided to give Jim Gozde with Mercury Auto Transport the opportunity to work with me in finding an enclosed transport for my 1968 Firebird. Keep in mind when looking to have your vehicle transported that most of the companies you communicate with or who contact you when setting up your vehicle transport are not the ones who actually pick up and deliver your vehicle, and do not own the transport trucks. Most that you communicate with in the beginning are just brokers who work with other companies and dispatchers to set your vehicle up with the actual transport company/driver. Jim Gozde(broker) with Mercury Auto Transport communicated with me very good throughout the whole transport process. Mercury did not require any money up front. A deposit is required but was not due until the vehicle was actually picked up by the transport driver. Jim Gozde with Mercury was able to get my vehicle transport set up with a company within 2 days of taking my order, and was picked up in CA by the assigned transport company drivers approximately 3 days later, then arrived and delivered in Ky 3 days after being picked up. Total time from Jim Gozde with Mercury taking my vehicle transport order, it was a total of 8 days when it arrived from Ca to Ky. I'll have to say that was a pretty good turnover time. The name of transport carrier that picked up and delivered my vehicle was OK Auto Carrier. The name OK of the transport carrier who actually picked up and delivered my vehicle is fitting because they were an Okay company. They did have an enclosed transport trailer but it was not like any I had ever used in the past. The enclosed transport trailers I have used in the past had rear doors that folded down and served as an elevator to raise and keep vehicles in a level position at all times. But OK Auto Carrier had a ramp system inside their trailer similar to an open transport trailer to drive the vehicles on to load, which means the vehicle is not loaded in a level process, and lower to the ground vehicles are susceptible to rubbing or dragging on the underneath side due to the angle and ramps used in the loading process, which I do believe happened with my vehicle but not noticed until the next day. When OK Auto Carrier arrived to deliver my car it would not start, which has never been an issue in the past. In other words the transport driver apparently didn't turn the key all the way off or turned it too far back which in turn ran the battery down. Long story short I wasn't overall pleased with the actual company OK Auto Carrier who delivered my car mainly due to the type loading system in their enclosed transport trailer. Also the number that was provided to me for the transport driver was not their number and totally different than the number they finally contacted me from. It was also a little difficult to understand and communicate with the transport driver(s) due to some language barriers. Although I likely would not fully recommend OK Auto Carrier, I will have to say I was pleased with Jim Gozde of Mercury Transport and feel he done a very good job on his part and stayed in communication with me through the whole process. To explain my less than 5 star feedback, well I would give Jim with Mercury a 5, but give the actual transport carrier something in the 3 range.
