Sugar Coated Lies

My associate and I received nothing but poor customer service, sugar coated lies, and broken promises in having a company vehicle delivered from our company offices in North Carolina to Seattle, WA. Our company is in the process of dissolving divisions of the parent company on the east coast and needed to move a vehicle in the process. The vehicle sat in North Carolina from December 26th until January 28th with no movement. Granted, the truck was only available for pickup the first two weeks on Friday and Saturday, yet, once the vehicle was available any day or time of the week the vehicle still sat.

Not until I phoned Scott at Mercury for the second time in two weeks was I told that someone from his office had tried to contact myself and my associate about a driver being ready to pick up the vehicle two weeks ago. When I inquired why this is the first that I had been informed of the situation I was told that one of the five numbers was bad. Yes, the number was old as we are in the process of dissolving company divisions, hence, changing numbers and why we gave multiples thereof. Yet, the other four phone numbers with voice mail and the two separate e-mail addresses were never used for contacting my associate and I.

To top it off, Scott now wouldn’t schedule a truck to pick up the vehicle until he had another credit card on file. The credit card information was given by my associate at the time of initially scheduling the vehicle pick-up in December. We were told that there was no record of the previous credit card given for the initial pick up. Either Scott was lying to us or he and the company have a very poor and inadequate method of business procedures in place to monitor paperwork flow. This is unacceptable service by any company in any industry.

I cancelled the order with Mercury and chose Angels Moving Autos (AMM). Angels had my vehicle picked up and delivered within a week despite 3,000+ miles and plenty of wintery passes to traverse. Many thanks and respect to Angels and their agents/drivers for the honesty and follow through. My best advice to anyone looking for an auto carrier; read the reviews, read up on the carrier’s BBB history, and take into account the length that an auto hauling business/broker has been around. Anyone can sprint 100 meters but only a few can perform marathon miracles such as Angels Moving Autos.

Mr. Jon Beverage has a very interesting view of events. He had over 4 different people in his company that he used to communicate with us which made this very confusing and difficult to deal with. After we located a carrier for him to ship his vehicle we called every number we had for two days and not one of his people got back with us and eventually we sent him an email and canceled his order. He never gave us a credit card or signed a contract so we didn't even know how serious of a customer he was because in this business when customers don't give you a commitment they can just vanish without returning your call and that's what happened here. After I read this review the other day I tried calling Mr. Beverage to discuss this experience he had with us because I take this sort of thing very seriously and am committed for each of our customers to have a good experience and it never hurts to hear a little criticism as we are always striving to make our company better. For two days multiple times each day until now I have called him and left messages and have still not had him answer the phone or call me back which is very frustrating since it's the reason in the first place we couldn't get his car shipped. We do apologize to Mr. Beverage for any miss-communication and/or any confusion that we may have caused. I would still ask for Jon to call me any time to discuss this professionally. We offer Jon Beverage to use our company again free of charge so we can show him that what he experienced is very rare and unusual here and we wish him the best and are glad that he did find a way to ship his car after all.
