We evacuated prior to Irma to Atlanta and decided to fly back to Florida. We submitted order with Mercury for shipment with Joel on 9/12/17 (evening). Given I was paying for service I trusted my agent and didn't read the fine print of the contract per which it can take up to 72 hours to find a driver and up to another 72 hours to deliver the car from the date of estimated pickup and drop-off. What Joel said over the phone call is that it should take one day for a pickup and once picked-up, the vehicle would be delivered very next day. On 9/14/17 we got a driver to pick up on Friday 9/15. The pickup didn't happen until Saturday and per the driver delivery was supposed to be on Monday 9/18. On Sunday driver said he needed to pickup one more vehicle and the key to that vehicle was only available Monday morning. I tried calling and texting the driver but he wouldn't answer. Finally, I got in touch with Joel who stated drivers truck was broken down and he lost his cell. Long story short, Joel arranged a new pickup that happened on 9/21 (more expensive) and never offered to help in anyway shape or form in mitigating for lost time and our commute cost as we were expecting the vehicle to arrive much sooner. I also spoke with Jeff who is Assistant Manager who basically said that he can't do anything and I would need to talk to Joel as Joel is independent contractor. Another company delivered vehicle on 9/23/17 at approximately 11:30am. That is 11 days after the vehicle was ordered. After inspection, I realized that 184 miles were put on the car by the first driver as he used it while his truck was broken down (the driver admitted via phone call) and our tank was half empty. Attached are photos of our dashboard prior to us flying out of Atlanta and when vehicle was delivered. I was extremely mad as this is extreme liability as vehicle could've been used for an array of illegal activities including potential accidents, violations etc. I called Joel and he said he can't do anything about that nor he would give us any type of break.
