Arrived late and minor damage

Vehicle arrived 1 day later than scheduled. Would have been okay with this but they never called - I had to call them. Of course they said they were about to call me. Vehicle arrived with minor damage to the front grille. Basically the clips were broken and it wouldn't stay in. The carrier immediately denied it was his fault. I called McNutt who indicated they would call the carrier. A few days later I received an email indicating I was denied. It turns out McNutt works on your behalf with the 3rd party carrier and McNutt never pays for damage even though their home page says they are insured and their customer service reps confirm they are insured. This wasn't a lot of damage but it's the principle. I bought the car without the damage and when it arrived it was damaged. They used real funny excuses but in the end they didn't cover the $80 and indirectly called me a liar. I will never do business with them again or refer them. I'm sure they will be in business long after I'm gone but if you're looking for a carrier, stand up for the little man and say - NO THANKS MCNUTT.

Bob, we are sorry you had a negative experience with moving the 2004 Ford Escape. As you know carriers do not open the hood of units they transport to inspect the motor or the inside of the grill. Due to where the damage on the vehicle was (IE the clips holding the grill) the insurance companies felt this was not caused by carrier negligence. Our cogency cargo insurance works with the carriers insurance in case a claim exceeds the carriers coverage, not in place of the carrier insurance. We wish you well in the future.
