I don't know whats up with all these positive reviews but I was not impressed with Magic Carpets customer service. Although customer service was on point when I inquired about getting my vehicle shipped, things went down hill after I gave them my credit card number and agreed to have my vehicle transported through them. I moved from the East-Coast to the West-Coast for a new job so heres what happened.

The following are the reasons why I wouldn't go with Magic Carpet Again.

1) I received a quote that I was comfortable spending but at the very last minute they raised the price by $250.

2) I gave Magic Carpet a 5 day window for my car to be picked up. I asked Hilary if this was an adequate amount of time and she said that it was "more than enough." It was crucial for them to pick the car up within that window because I was catching a flight on the 3rd day of that period. Since my girlfriend didn’t have to relocate to the west-coast as soon as I did, she had scheduled her flight a few days later so she could release my car to the carrier. The 5th day was the very last day that she would have been able to release the car since she was catching her flight that evening. I contacted Magic Carpet everyday during the pick-up window but all I got was that they were "aggressively looking for a carrier." On the 5th day of the window, I contacted Magic Carpet and that’s when they slapped me with an extra $250 saying that my price wasn’t high enough for a carrier to pickup the vehicle. I was like WTF, why are you telling me now when I've already relocated to the other side of the coast and when my girlfriend was catching her flight in a few hours. I had no other choice but to agree to the price increase because at that point, I just wanted my car to be picked up. When Magic Carpet was unable to find a carrier to pickup the car on the last day of the window, I had to franticly find someone that I could trust to release my car. Keep in mind that I was living in the East-coast for only a few months and had no relatives there and didn’t know anyone well enough that I could trust to leave my car with to release the vehicle. I fortunately found a co-worker whom that I didn’t know too well that was cool with releasing my car.

3) I was told that my car would arrive in 7 days. This was perfectly fine with me since I had an extra vehicle at home and didn’t urgently need my vehicle. On the day before my car was suppose to arrive I contacted MAGIC Carpet to check the status on my car since I haven’t heard a word from them since the car was picked up. I got a response from Hilary saying that the “carrier was in the area yesterday and have been trying to contact you”. I thought to myself, WTH? I keep my phone on me 24/7 and did not have any miss calls or voice messages. I told Hilary to make sure that they have my correct #. It turns out that the carrier had the wrong number and have been leaving voice messages at someone else’s voice mailbox. When Hilary gave them my correct contact number I finally get a call from the carrier “demanding” me to meet them immediately or else they’ll leave my car somewhere and I’ll have to pay a fine for the storage fee. I was at work at that time when I got the call to meet them for the drop-off but I had meetings at work that morning/afternoon and couldn’t get away from the office. Luckily my girlfriend didn’t start work yet and was able to meet them up to receive the vehicle. I think this problem could have been easily solved if Magic Carpet contacted me and told me that the carrier was in the area and was trying to get a hold of me. What if I didn’t check the status on my car and initiated contact? Im sure my vehicle would have been sitting somewhere locked up in a garage.

4) Customer Service. As I mentioned earlier, Hilary was very nice in terms of answering all my questions when I inquired about getting my car shipped though Magic Carpet. One gripe I have about Hilary was that she picked up and went on vacation during the week that my car was suppose to be shipped and never mentioned who will be my contact person at Magic Carpet so I could check the status on the pickup date of my vehicle. While Hilary was out, I was in contact with Kathy, and Michelle. I thought both ladies were very rude and got the impression that they didn’t care about my situation.

*Although I received my car in perfect condition, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company for the reasons stated above. I think it would have been more stress free if I just drove my vehicle across the country.

*some of the reviews for Magic Carpet are probably biased/exaggerated. Magic Carpet gives their customers a $30 to rebate to add a comment on this website. I wonder if the rebate thing still applies for negative comments like mine.
