We originally contracted with another broker (2nd lowest of 23 bids, but recommended by a family friend). After a month of promises, adding a $50 sweetener to attract a carrier, but still no pickup we canceled and went back to our list of bids. Sheila, with Magic Carpet Auto Transport, took a weekend to respond to our email request, but we found out she had been in the hospital due to an accident. As our original quote was 45 days old she had it rebid. While slightly higher than our original bid we felt it was more likely to get a carrier than the other company's low ball bid. At the end of our first week Shelia called to say they had a carrier, but he wanted $50 more. She told us she already had it approved to use part of the broker commission to pay the carrier and it wasn't going to cost us any more. She said it would be picked up that coming Sun. The driver called Sat afternoon and asked to pick it up Sat night instead. He told a family member when he picked it up that it would probably be delivered toward the end of the following week to a distribution hub in Denver for delivery by a smaller carrier truck. As the weekend approached we called Sheila to see if she could confirm a delivery date and time. I also asked her to make sure we weren't charged extra for the smaller truck delivery. She called back to say it would arrive in Denver on Sun. She also told the driver (who was new to this carrier which they normally use) that no fee for the smaller truck delivery could be charged. We were called on Sun and told to expect the car at 9am on Monday. The car was delivered Mon at precisely 9am, right in front of our house with no damage and for exactly the $935 we contracted for. We were very happy with Sheila and Magic Carpet Auto Transport.
