In planning my entire household and busniss relocation from Honolulu, HI to Northern Florida, my auto transport needs quickly became a serious issue. One of my 2 vehicles was a modified Acura Integra whose suspension had been lowered to the extent it could not be driven under it's own power over the loading ramps of the shipping vessel. The only timely and cost effective solution was to purchase a car trailer and ship the vehicle on the trailer. Sounds simple enough, right? Well as it turned out none of the auto transport companies I contacted were willing to undertake the challenge of coordinating the shipping of my vehicles since one was trailer mounted. I literally had about 3 days before my departure to finalize the vehicle issue and that's when I got in touch with Kathy Ashlock of Magic Carpet Auto Transport. Dealing with Kathy was like being locked in a dark room and suddenly the lights were turned on. Kathy assured me there was no problem with shipping my vehicles and she immediately took over and sorted out all the issues in time for me to make my departure flight from Honolulu. She kept me constantly updated on the staus of my 2 vehicles and once they arrived in California, I was put in touch with the various drivers and they kept in touch with me until my vehicles arrived. As a matter of fact both of my vehicles arrived several days ahead of schedule, just like magic! (:>) Also the best part of it all, Magic Carpet was the lowest priced broker I spoke to. I paid a total of $4633.53 to ship 2 vehicles from Honolulu to my door in Florida, and 1 was on a trailer! (This included Matson's premium for the trailer). They were also the only company that allowed me to pay for each increment of the shipping process. When I delivered the vehicles to the shipper, I paid only for that portion of the shipping. Once the vehicles were picked up in California, I was billed for Magic Carpet's portion and finally I paid each driver separately when each vehicle was delived. All the other companies I spoke to wanted all the money up front. I could go on and on about how positive an experience this has been but I think you get the idea. If anyone reading this needs to ship a vehicle, give Kathy Ashlock of Magic Carpet Auto Transport a call, she'll take all the stress and hassle out of your move.:.
