I was very pleased with "Sawgrass" the actual transport company who moved my BMW 330CI from Maine to California.However, Magic Carpet brokers charged me $270.00 when the car was placed on the carrier. Kathy, at Magic Carpet, stated that she wanted to be "completely honest" with me, and that the $1420.00 price would insure that the car would be picked up by a driver at an earlier date then other companies who charged less.

I had done research, but the companies all had a sales pitch,and I was tired of listening to them. The car was picked up, and arrived quickly.The Saw Grass driver was experienced and knowledgeable,and I paid him the requested $1150.00 plus a $50.00 tip. I then found out that Magic Carpet had charged a broker fee of $270.00 for making 3 phone calls.They have no liability for damages during transport.

When I called Kathy to discuss the excessive broker fee,her nice and "honest" attitude had changed.She stated,"What?I don't deserve to get a paycheck?" She also stated that the fee was for an "expedited " pick up and delivery (which I did not request).She retorted," Well, you said you needed the car." I stated that the $270.00 fee was a misrepresentation of the shipping costs.She became angry,and stated that I "did not understand how the industry works" and that " everyone charges an initial fee." She stated I would receive a $50.00 refund if I completed a "favorable" review of the company,and that,"I told you this on the phone."

Does Kathy need customer service and anger management training...she does.Does Magic Carpet need to be honest about their $270.00 broker fee for placing a few phone calls...they do.I'd use Sawgrass Transport again in a heartbeat...but...Magic Carpet...Never again.

I’m sorry your review is completely fabricated, You did ask for expedited service and I made you a wear of all the cost evolved in moving your car. You mentioned you needed you car to be pick up quickly, we placed the order on 6/2 and it was picked up on 6/4. We charge $270 with a $50.00 rebate for an HONEST review, this is charged to every customer moving coast to coast. Sorry you didn’t feel you received 5 star service.
