I contacted over 50 companies when I began my quest to bring my daughter's car from college in Georgia home to California. Talk about "information overload"...I found so many different quotes and so many different horror stories that I almost decided to drive it myself until Tony called me from Magic Carpet. He was very informative and very nice...not pushy but full of great information. After reading all the online reviews I finally figured out what I really needed to look for in a transport company and Magic Carpet filled all my needs. These companies are brokers that find independent trucks to transport your car. The quote they give you minus the deposit you pay the broker is what the truck driver receives for shipping the car (you will end up paying that amount to the driver when the car is delivered). Here is the catch: The more the broker offers to the driver, the faster your car will be picked up plain and simple. If you get a LOW bid you may not get a driver willing to pick it up until the price goes higher, so they will have to come back to you and ask for more money after you have waited a week or two with no results. This is why it is so important to only use a company that gives reasonable quotes and takes NO money until the car is actually picked up! I only had a 10-day window for pickup...it turned out that my car was picked up in 9 days which was imperative since my daughter had a ticket to fly home soon! The driver wanted more money but Tony dropped their fee (the deposit ended up less) so I only had to pay the $30 more than the original quote...and Tony called me to OK the increase before the car was picked up. The driver kept in contact, was fairly punctual, and delivered the car in good shape coast to coast in only 8 days! The only downside is that the car was a little dirty...which I expected, and the driver had a heavy accent so he was a little hard to understand. Even though their prices were in the higher end of the range of quotes I received, it ended up being a fair price that got my car here in a timely and professional manner. I would use them again and I will contact Tony when I do.

Charlene, wow, what a great review and you speak the truth to all of those looking to transport a car. The lowest quotes are definitely NOT the best quotes. It's not like everything else in life where getting the lowest price and best deal is the way to go. It doesn't work that way in this industry. We must find a price that is fair to the customer AND the driver. We strive to find that price in our original quote, which is why we wont be the cheapest quote that you receive.
