car-less for 2 days

Overall the company knows what they're doing, but my experience was suboptimal, although I still ended up getting the car safely - but paid more and waited longer. To make a long story short I needed the car delivered over a period of about three days and when I set up the delivery 5 wks prior to car pick-up I was told that any of those 3 days would not be a problem. I thought "great!" The day of car pick-up comes, and magic carpet calls me and said that the driver is "ahead" of schedule and in order to pick-up my car the driver wants to charge an extra $50. Heck I was leaving the state in 2 days so even though I felt cheated I paid the driver the extra $50 anyway - I suppose this is not magic carpet's fault but why should the customer have to deal with this - I thought that was the whole point of hiring a contractor! The second blow came when DURING the car pick-up the driver mentioned that the car will be there a whole day early compared to the prearranged 3 day period - well I didn't know anyone that lived near the delivery destination so I had to arrange for a different delivery destination location on-the-fly (25 miles away from my future residence), had to goto Fedex to draft a postal money order to send to my friend who'll be receiving the car instead, then had to wait 2 more days before I could hitch a ride to go to my friends house to pick up my car. Again, ultimately I got the car alright and in good condition, and the driver did his part, and customer service from magic carpet was understanding, but this cost another $70 on my part and I was carless for 2 days - not my fault - simply a miscommunication between magic carpet and the driver.
