Reconsider Using A Broker

I seriously have regrets about working with a broker to ship my vehicle. However, I can’t imagine that this experience would have been much different working with another broker. Be sure when you’re looking for a auto-transport company, that you do not contract a middle man.

Magic Carpet ended up getting near $150 to sit in between this deal, and this was about $100 higher than other brokers. I chose magic carpet in light of this because of their promises of high quality prompt customer service, immediate updates on changing dates, as well as oppertunies to track the shipping. However, I received none of these things.

The car estimated pick up was pushed back 5 days from the initial projection. Every time there was a further delay, there was no communication from Magic Carpet, I had to hear it third hand from the person selling me the car (who was seemingly in better contact with the driver than my broker.)

There was no notification that the car had even been picked up. 4 days into transit, I was looking for updates. I reached out to Magic Carpet for this information, but was asked to call their driver directly, which ended up in just hitting the drivers voicemail. I didn’t pay $150 just to end up doing the job that was promised by the broker.

I received a phone call from magic carpet the day after the car was delivered, telling me that there may be further delay on my delivery. When I explained that the car has already been received, Magic Carpet seemed to be surprised by this information. Its concerning that they were not aware that the delivery was completed.

When I pay $150 extra solely to provide service, I expect it. Unfortunately my experience feel short of the promises made in the front end of this arrangement. In defense of Magic Carpet, Trevon was allways pleasent to talk to, and I have a feeling this disconnect between the broker and driver would have been the same regardless if I chose another broker.

Blake sorry you had a delay however I did stay in touch with you every day until it was picked up. I left you messages because you did not pick up the phone many times. The car was picked up a few days later however I have no control over the drivers schedule when he gets delayed. The driver told me that he would call you and that he had been delayed another day when i called to see here they were in the delivery process. Best Wishes, Trevon
