DON'T GET RIPPED OFF!! STEER CLEAR OF MAGIC CARPET AUTO TRANSPORT!!

I needed to ship my daughter's car from Atlanta to California. I chose Magic Carpet because they had the highest ratings on this site. They were not the cheapest. There is a reason they are rated highly on this site. When you rent from them, they quote you a fee and then state they will return $50 after the move. When I called to ask about my $50 return, I was told I must visit this site, write a review of a certain length. I was also told I MUST NOT state I am being compensated by Magic Carpet Auto Transport for the review. Hillary noted thE $50 RETURN is a rebate not compensation. Right!! I decided to play along for a while. I was then told I needed to enter a certain order number. Then I was told I needed to enter another certain confirmation number. Getting all this info took a good 45 minutes and several left messages. I left the mandatory length review but no money was returned. When I was able to reach Hillary, she said that was not her department, I must call Ellen. I left Ellen several messages to no avail. I managed to get Ellen's e-mail address and never received a response to my messages. When I did reach Hillary, I was told the review I posted was not adequate. I would need to write a better review if I wanted my money back. That is why Magic Carpet has more good reviews than other companies. I don't care about the $50 at this point. I simply would like to save anybody from dealing with these people. It was the worst customer service I have ever received. This company is simply a broker. Once you book with them, they try to locate a transport truck from one of many companies to pick up your car. The guy that came to pick up my car simply walked in to my office. His car or truck was no where in site. His appearance did not inspire confidence. I was out of town at the time so one of my employees handled the situation. She called to tell me she was in no way comfortable turning over the car to this guy. He had no business card and looked and acted very unprofessional. The car was insured so I told her to cooperate with the guy. He then stated he needed to see the car and note any imperfections so they would not be liable. He made scribbles all over the car drawing that would protect him from any potential damage. The car did make it to California but I cannot imagine having to deal with this company for issues with a damaged vehicle. I have never written a letter like this. If I can save one person from having to endure the unprofessional treatment I received, the time and effort I put in to this will be worth it. Good luck and be careful!!

Rick, I am so sorry you were having dificulties with your rebate. Unfortunately the original survey you completed was removed BY THIS SITE BECAUSE OF BAD LANGUAGE you posted. Transport reviews values their visitors and will not allow anything that is offensive to other visitors to stay on their website. Because of this your review was removed. Hillary tried to contact you to explain so you would still be eligible for your rebate but we never recieved a response back from you. Sorry for all of the inconvenience and we wish you well. ~ Nicole Hancock ~ General Manager Magic Carpet Auto transport.
