I called Magic Carpet a month in advance to have my daughter's car transported from Florida to Maine. I received a call from Michelle at Magic Carpet with a quote of 825.00, then a rebate of 50.00 to do a review. The final cost was quoted as 775.00; Magic Carpet said their fee was 270.00 and the rest was to go to the driver at the time of delivery. Michelle was very pleasant at the time of the booking. About 6 days before the pick up was scheduled, I called Michelle to see if we were still on schedule to have the car picked up. Michelle did say that they were very busy and once she found a driver, I would be contacted. I ended up calling back again the day before the car was to be picked up and I spoke to a different girl. I explained that I have not heard anything and was disappointed that I booked this a month a month in advance and no one has called me. She said that it does not matter how in advance you book the pick up, it comes down to what you are willing to pay. She said that for the 775.00 I was quoted, the car will never get picked up. She said that I had to pay more if I wanted it picked up soon. She did drop their broker fee by 50.00 and had me pay 25.00 more. Once she did this, I got a call from a Transport Co. and they did pick up the car and delivered it on time. The only issue I have is that I am not the one that came up the amount to have the car transported, it was Michelle at Magic Carpet. I wish I would of been told that the quote is on the low side and if no Transporter calls within a week or so, then we will need to up the bid. I would of been fine with that.
