An Endless Process

I was assigned to a carrier quickly, however, the arrival date did not work with my schedule. I asked for my car to be rescheduled for pickup the following week and then heard nothing back from anyone at Magic Carpet. I spent the next two weeks calling Magic Carpet almost every day trying to find out if they had found a carrier for my car. I was leaving California and needed my car to be picked up prior to my departure.

Finally my car was scheduled to be put on a carrier the day before I left. I didn't hear anything from the truck driver the day before he was supposed to pick up my car, so I called Magic Carpet to make sure everything was still on schedule. The representative I spoke with called to check with the truck driver; it turned out that his truck had broken down in Salt Lake City and he would be unable to pick my car up that day. It did not appear that the truck driver or Magic Carpet intended to call and inform me of the delay. The Magic Carpet rep told me the driver would not be able to pick my car up until after I had left California. I ended up having to leave my car with a friend in California who had to go out of her way to deliver my car to the truck driver when he finally arrived.

This was extremely frustrating experience. I would have appreciated constant communication from Magic Carpet instead of having to chase them down myself. I worked mostly with Crystal, who was very nice and I believe tried to help me, but when dealing with other representatives I received misinformation and found them to be borderline rude. Next time I'll just drive my car across the country and save myself the headache.

Gillian, I am sorry you felt we did not provide five star services. This move was very frustrating to the both of us. I provided as much information to you as it came in to me. I did not know about a truck breaking down until you had spoken with me. The driver had no communication with us regarding his truck issue. Unfortunately we are at the Mercy of the trucks and we don’t have control over them. I do apologize that you have to inconvenience a friend to meet the driver. Again I do apologize for all the delays and any inconvenience this has caused. -Crystal Warner-
