I contacted Magic Carpet and received a quote before i bought my car out of state. I called once I had purchased the car to activate my quote [Oct.3]. Nicole told me it would take 1-7 days to pick up the car. Nothing had happened by Oct.12, so we listed with another auto transport broker. Since all brokers access the same "central dispatch" board, the new broker was able to tell us that Magic Carpet had not listed our car until the 8th, and then at only $500. Why did they not list it for 5 days? Why did they offer the driver such a low price? It was in a town that was 70 miles off an interstate, so very few drivers would be interested in it at that rock-bottom [but high-profit] price. They over-promised and under-performed.

My daily eMails or phone calls were met with evasive excuses. I don't think I ever spoke to my initial contact again, she was unavailable.

Sharon, I am sorry you didn’t feel that we were able to help you effectively with your transport. When you placed the order with our company, it was explained to you that it takes an average of 1-7 days to arrange a driver on a standard run within the metropolitan area. The location for both pickup and delivery are very difficult routes and I explained that it could possibly take longer. You even said it yourself that the locations were 70 miles off the interstate. The estimation we give is based solely on the carriers’ availability and the route specific. We cannot guarantee a pick up or delivery date. All time frames that are given are estimations. The order was submitted to our dispatchers and our carriers on the day the order was placed (Oct 3). Between that time and on the 8th I made some adjustments to the order to entice carriers to pick your vehicle up. The broker you signed with did not read the information to you correctly. The rate to the carrier was actually posted at $575 which leaves a deposit to our company at $195 and the $50 rebate back to you. Over the past 2 years we have had over 1500 customers who disagree with your assessment of our company. Again I am sorry for any confusion you may have had on this and I wish you good luck on your transport. ~Nicole~
