I booked Magic Carpet on 7/6 by phone after online review of its high ranking among the FIVE-star ratings. It was my first experience with booking auto transport. While I was in Pennsylvania with the car, I needed to have it moved to my Florida residence, where my agent would receive it. Booking arrangement was made through Kathy by phone. Total transport cost was $665, which included a $220 credit card deposit paid at the time of my phone booking (although the Magic Carpet web site states with emphasis that no up-front deposit is required until pick-up). That deposit was more expensive than the usual $150-175 of other companies I surveyed. On 7/9, I was informed that a truck had been assigned to transport the vehicle, with estimated pick-up to be on 7/10 and delivery on 7/14. A confirmation was received from the trucking company, which I found on the Internet to be a THREE-Star rated Florida transporter! However, the driver (one of two on the truck) stayed in contact with me and met me on 7/10 at the pick-up site (in the night at 4:15 AM!) . On 7/11 at 8 PM my vehicle was delivered to my agent in Southwest Florida, a very fast delivery! Almost too fast for me to make the arrangement to have my agent meet the truck to receive the vehicle..
