My classic car, 1941 Lincoln Zephyr was picked up in New York and transferred to Long Beach to be placed on the ship to Hawaii. It got to Long Beach on time, but due to mix up between Magic and Matson, it sat there for about 10 days before it make the sail. There was very little communication with the driver of the truck or Matson's which seems to be typical from what I can tell about that industry. Matson's kept telling me they couldn't answer any questions about the departure or arrival of my vehicle either in Long Beach or Honolulu. And the Matson customer service at one point informed me that your company was listed as the only agent to even discuss the vehicle or any issues with it. That took another phone call to "Cathy" in your office to get that straightened out, which she admitted was a mistake on their part. The vehilce arrived finally on the 23rd of July, and I finally got it on the 28th of July. The vehicle was very dirty from it's journey, and there are some mechanical issues with it which I am not sure of the causes. Overall the job got done, but the communication problems from start to finish leave a lot to be desired. Changes need to take place in your industry. I hear other horror stories from people having their vehicles transported via truck also. There seems to be little regulation and certainly little communication with the truckers or the dispatch people either. The only good think about all this is that I don't have to have vehicles transported very often. Thank you!
