I was disappointed with almost every aspect of the vehicle shipping service through Magic Carpet Auto.

First, the company is only a broker and will sell you their services on the grounds that they are going to get you the best possible service, and help you through the move. That is false. I got a better quote on my own, but foolishly trusted that I would be receiving additional care because I used a broker. Every conflict I had with the shipping company I reported to magic carpet. They resolved one out of 5. They seemed to be on the shipper's side for everything except one incident without contact.

Secondly, they set me up with a shipping company with an "F" rating from BBB and over 21 complaints about late delivery. They assured me repeatedly that this company, auto star transport of Spokane WA is their primary shipping company. What good is a shipping broker who PRIMARILY uses a very poorly rated shipping company? This company uses primarily Russian drivers an doesn't hold their end of the ridiculously biased contract on the back of their bill of lading. Magic Carpet repeatedly defended them to me, and told me that they ship most of their cars through this company. As I said before: magic carpet will go to bat for the shippers when you're having a problem. Not you.

Finally, after receiving the car late there was 3246 dollars in damages to my car from the shipping company. I left the shipping company, and Magic Carpet several messages. No one ever called me back. It was impossible to communicate this to the truck driver since he spoke no English. That is a story for Auto Star's review. The point is Magic Carpet provided me with nothing useful whatsoever, and I paid them for it.

Save yourself some money and trouble: skip these guys.
