A stunningly poor experience

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

These folks seem nice. They call you back promptly with a quote and they give you a bunch of phone numbers that you can call with questions. Until they get their money, they call you right back. But when they've set up a transport (in my case, with only a few hours notice), they're next to impossible to get in touch with. In my case, the company they set me up with, InTransit, was run by a bunch of super shady Ukranians who delivered my car two weeks late after going from just dishonest to plain threatening over the phone - and we had to do all of the contact with them, since Magic Carpet couldn't seem to get in touch with them at all, couldn't negotiate a discount for an outrageously late delivery, and generally just threw up their hands by the end, saying "well, we won't ever use them again". Not very helpful for someone whose car is already hostage.

As far as I can tell, Magic Carpet does nothing that you couldn't do yourself. But trusting them to handle the details of finding a reputable shipper was worse, since we ended up spending hours dealing with a bunch extortionists without any help from them. I say it again, and cannot say it more strongly: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Jonathan I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience with the carrier we assigned to ship your car. We have used them in the past and always had a good experience. The main problem was the day they tried to pick up your said you were unavailable because of work and although they were able to pickup the following day, your car went out on a later truck so the delivery day was postponed. I spoke to your girlfriend and your father numerous times and tried to keep them updated the best I could because you are a surgeon and rarely available during business hours I couldn't speak directly to you. Again we really do our best to provide 5 star service and are so sorry that you felt we missed the mark on this one.
