Long time & Increased Cost, but Excellent Customer Svc

I ordered car pick-up starting on 5/22, and was told by this company, as well as other lower-rated auto transporters, that a one-week time span would be more than sufficient for pick-up. My car was finally picked-up in the wee hours of 6/2. By then, I had already left the state to move-out, but thankfully had a friend who was able to hand the car over to Magic Carpet. Without that, it would have been a miserable experience.

The problem could have been because there was a holiday, causing a longer delay, or it could be that LA was not a very feasible pick-up area. Regardless, I was disappointed that it had not been picked-up within a week, and that it took 13 days for pick-up, along with 9 days transit from Louisiana to Las Vegas.

Initially, Magic Carpet quoted me $1075, then they knocked off $75 upon price-match with other 5-star transporters. Lower rated 3-4 star companies quoted me $750-$895 or so. BUT I went with Magic Carpet because of the excellent reviews, and because they told me that my car would NEVER get picked-up if it was as low as $750. Finally, after waiting 13 LOOONG days, and AFTER me leaving my state, my car was FINALLY picked-up...with an EXTRA $125 added because the $1000 was not enough.

Throughout this entire ordeal, I was not happy that it took this long..and not happy with the $125 increase. HOWEVER... I would like to say that the contact with ERICA, and even BRIANA, was wonderful. They were quick to respond to my e-mails (and THAT is a huge PLUS), and quick to call and leave explanatory voice messages...and because it was taking so long, they were wonderful enough to keep both me and my friend back in louisiana updated about the status of my pick-up. THAT is what I was impressed by. I did not like how long it took, and I was not happy about the price increase to an already-expensive quote....but, it was the person-to-person contact, that I truly appreciated.

The trucker, whose name was Rick Bills, I believe, was also a great transporter. He delivered my car in a professional manner, with no damages that I noticed, and was available by phone AND text-message. Yes, there were slight variables and changes in pick-up and drop-off times, but the important thing was that he was also available by phone and he was very professional & honest as well.

Overall, this was my first experience with having a car transported...and though this was VERY expensive service, for such a small car (mazda2) in an OPEN container, I do want to praise them thoroughly for their HONESTY and CUSTOMER-service... IN this day of terrible computerized answering machine and dishonesty, that was one area that I was impressed with this particular company.

In the future, I may go with another company, just to compare services...but thankfully for me, it all worked out...and for all the professional exchanges that I experienced with them, I praise them thoroughly! Thanks Erica!! :)
