My car safely made it from Cleveland to San Francisco. But it was not the ideal experience.

I spoke with Stephanie on May 11th and decided to move forward with shipping via Magic Carpet. She recommended a 2 day window, so I said May 23-24. I didn't hear anything for a while and called Stephanie back on May 21. She wasn't available, but a colleague of hers helped me out. I appreciate that I didn't have to wait for Stephanie to get an update, so that was good.

Unfortunately, his update was that they hadn't yet found a carrier. He said he was going to try some more and call me back. An hour later I got a call that he had found one, but that they required more money - an extra $90. Since I was leaving Ohio on May 25, I couldn't risk not having a carrier pick up the car, so I had to accept it. This was frustrating as I felt like I didn't really have any options. This is the reason for the 3 star review - no proactive communication and then an increase in rate at the 11th hour.

That said, the carrier was great - they were in constant communication via phone and text (which is handy), providing me timing updates the day they came to pick it up. They provided similar service on the drop off. They were late both times, but only by a couple of hours, not a couple of days, and I always knew what was going on.
