Sue from Magic Carpet was very honest

I recently went on line to inquiry about shipping my car from SC to California for a career related move. After filling out a email contest form to have transport companies contact me via email I was emailed by 10 companies within 48 hours all with offers to ship my car from 1,100 to 1,500 dollars.

The first two companies I called told me everything I wanted to hear however when I argeed to move forward with them they pressed me for a deposit of $150 of my credit card. I told them I would make the deposit but only if they would put every thing we argeed in writing BEFORE I pay any amount. One company said they will call me in a week and but it in writing then. The other company said I had to make the deposit first before they could give me the contract in writing. I quickly ended the conversation with both companies.

I then called a third company Magic Carpet Transportation and talked to a Sue Garrison. I told her my story and she was the first person that was honest with me and that I did not catch in a lie. I asked the previous companies if I could fill up my car with possessions and they both said yes but no more then 100 pounds of stuff. I told them I had a lot more stuff then that and I am only interested in a company that would allow me to fill my car up. They both told me if I paid the driver extra I could fill my car with stuff. The first guy said he cant quote me a price but I can haggle with the driver. The second car told me that's its a $100 if its more then 100 pounds. Sue informed me that they practice was illegal and that's the reason why the companies couldn't put that in writing.

The other companies were gonna take my money and let the truck explain me that what I wanted a couldn't have done. I ended up getting a POD to move my stuff I am just glad Sue let me know before it was too late and I would have to delay or change my plane flight cause I didn't have arrangements for my stuff cause someone lied to me on the phone.

Like you, I don't like to be told half truth's or omissions or especially outright lies when handing my business to someone. I believe that a consumer should know what the risks are so they may have other options if this one doesn't work. The end result should be having satisfied customers and that seems to be what keeps Magic Carpet #1. Thanks again for taking the time to post this and hopefully if you or your friend's ever need this service, you'll call on me.
