My experience with Magic Carpet is detailed below.
Here are the facts:

• I contacted Magic Carpet because of the highly rated reviews I read on the TransportReviews.com website
• 11.1- I called and spoke to Kathy and agreed to $ 1,205 to transport my Jeep from Charlotte NC. to Seattle WA.
• We are on a tight schedule and need the Jeep in Seattle by 11.15
• 11.2 – No contact or follow up from Magic Carpet
• 11.3 - I call back for Kathy to check on progress, she tells me she will contact her carriers.
11.3 – 7:30 PM Kathy calls to tell me she has found a carrier but the cost will be $ 1,305, I agree to the upcharge on the spot. Kathy schedules the pick-up for 11.8 ( I clear my calendar to be available )
• 11.3 – 11.8 – No contact or follow up from Magic Carpet
• 11.8 – 6:30 PM – No pick-up – No contact from Magic Carpet - I called Magic Carpet, Casey answers, I ask for Kathy
Casey tells me Kathy is out for 2 weeks. I ask who is covering my account, Casey doesn’t know.
I ask Casey to take over my account, he agrees. Casey contacts Paul at Diesel Auto Express and calls me back.
The new pick up date is scheduled for 11.9 ( driver was having problems ) ( I again clear my calendar to be available )
• 11.9 – No pick-up – No contact or follow up from Magic Carpet
11.9 – 3:00 PM – I call Paul ( dispatcher ) at Diesel Auto Express. Driver is still in Washington DC.
I call and talk to the Driver. He will not arrive in Charlotte until 11.11
Driver tells me he plans to leave Charlotte and head west on 11.13
This is 4 days later than the original scheduled pick-up and there is no hope for delivery by 11.15
• 11.10 – No contact or follow up from Magic Carpet
I called the driver directly and he hopes to be able to pick up my Jeep by the afternoon of 11.11
• 11.11 – No contact or follow up from Magic Carpet
The Diesel Auto Express driver called me directly and we were able to get the Jeep loaded on Friday at 2:00 in the afternoon.
The driver tells me that he will do what he can to deliver the Jeep by 11.17 but can make no promises.
On Friday at 8:30 at night I received an e-Mail from Magic Carpet telling me that my car had been picked up ( 6 hours after it had been loaded )
• 11.12 – 11.17 – No contact or follow up from Magic Carpet
11.17 – The Diesel Auto Express driver calls and delivers the Jeep in Seattle on time.

The primary job of a transport broker is communication and scheduling. You are failing badly on both counts.
I am now doing your job by dealing directly with Diesel Auto Express and their driver.

Nothing that Magic Carpet has told me so far has been accurate.

It is lucky that I was able to work directly with the Diesel Auto Express people ( Dispatcher and Driver ) to track down accurate information.
They were very courteous and pleasant to work with and the Jeep arrived in good shape. They have earned my trust in spite of Magic Carpet's lack of service.

I sent this review to Magic Carpet earlier for their response. To date I have received no response from Magic Carpet. Why am I not surprised ?
