Don't Expect Any Support if there is Damage

When I shipped my 2007 Subaru Legacy GT Limited from Portland, OR to Florida, I selected Magic Carpet Auto Transport based on many highly favorable reviews on this site. I paid a premium broker fee ($260 vs $100 for many companies) to do so because of the reviews. From the start, I was disappointed with the communications, usually having to call multiple times to reach Casey. Most distressing was not receiving any written documentation identifying the carrier they had selected or the actual scheduled pickup date. When I called and requested an email, I was told the emails with that information are computer-generated and cannot be re-sent (too bad I never received one). When I finally learned the name of the selected carrier (Advance Car Carrier), I became concerned due to complaints of not them taking care of claims. Casey assured me he had never had a problem with them, and I was out of time to make a change, so I let things stand. The car was picked up and delivered in a timely fashion, but it suffered a dent in the hood when it was apparently driven under something with insufficient clearance during transport. The denial of responsibility by the carrier and refusal to pay for the $405 repair (lowest quote) is on the carrier, but Magic Carpet gave me absolutely no support during the claim process. Casey forwarded a copy of the carrier's insurance form and essentially said, "Good luck." My luck wasn't good, and I won't ever use Magic Carpet again.
