When the deal was first made, I let Don Treece(my customer svc rep at Magic carpet auto transport) know that I was not in a hurry to get the car which is true. He told me that my type of vehicle(98 Honda Accord) was a desirable vehicle for drivers to pick up compared to larger vehicles such has SUV's or Trucks because of its compact size. Now this may be the case, but the price you pay is more important. Keep in mind that the price you pay is the price the drivers are looking at and the lower it is, the less likely your vehicle will be picked up in a timely manner. My original quote was for $1140, my broker Don Treece was not able to find a driver to pick up my car for over a week, but not for the lack of trying. My original quote was just simply too low and drivers were picking up cars that paid $150-$300 more than I did and that was the problem. After over a week, Don Treece informed me of a driver that was willing to pick up my Honda Accord if I paid an additional $170. Again, although displeased, but still not in a rush, I declined the offer and opted to wait it out. After a few more days and still no pick up. After receiving countless emails from other transport companies giving me quotes around 1300-1400 and guaranteeing that the would not even take a deposit until the car was picked up, I was convinced that the 1300 was the range that would get my car picked up. I eventually realized that my car would be sitting in it's origin for a long time if I didn't make my car look more appealing by adding the additional $170. I called Don Treece back and told him I would add the additional $170 and by the end of the day, he was able to find a driver. It took an additional 2-3 days for the driver to actually pick up the car. Although I was somewhat displeased with how it began, I was happy in the end. I do want to say that, the customer service provided by Don Treece at Magic Carpet Auto was great, courteous, and somewhat knowledgeable. The problem with the service I received is that I was given a quote too low and was informed that my car would be easily picked up in a timely manner. There's a difference if you tell me that I have to pay around $1300 and my chances of the car getting picked up will be higher, then I would say "oh okay, let's do it." But when I am told that my original quote would get the car picked up quickly and it didn't. Well that was just a whole bunch of wasted time. I don't blame Don Treece, even though I wasn't in a rush, I probably put pressure on him by constantly checking up on him, maybe made him say some things that he couldn't guarantee. I chose this company because they are top rated, but my personal advice to Magic carpet auto transport is, be real, don't give low quotes with promises to move the car. Be realistic and give a higher quote with confidence that you can move your customer's vehicle in a timely manner. They will be happier in the end. I'm directing this review at the entire company itself. My customer rep Don Treece was only following company procedures and actually has little to do with my quote price. I say this because this review is mostly negative, but Don Treece was a very kind and polite man that gave me countless ways to contact him and always got back to me in a timely manner even though it was difficult for him to move my car due to the company's quotes that are given to customers. I'd bet if he worked for a company with more realistic quotes, he would be a great broker. Hope this review helps anyone out there looking to transport their car.

Don@magiccarpetautotransport.com /Direct 360-975-3346 Thanks for the summary of your transport process Chris, I completely understand your perspective and hope your situation helps others with transport needs- the fact is that the majority of our transports move at the quoted price. The carriers do accept higher priced vehicles first, that is just the law of supply and demand, amplified somewhat by the busy summer season and a high volume of vehicles being moved. I am glad we were able to get your car out to Portland at a fair price, though more than our quote. CUSTOMERS, remember your quote is a best estimate of what your cost of transport will be, conditions like fuel prices, weather, and volume of cargo can effect the final cost. don@magic
