Please note this review is NOT about Susan Garrison. She was very conscientious and remained in constant contact with me. This review is about the company MAGIC CARPET and the auto shipping industry as a whole. Magic Carpet, as well as all of the other transport companies are "brokers." Despite some of their claims, they do not have their own trucks. They really do nothing other than write down your information, then place your order on a national load board. Individual drivers then bid on your order. The brokers claim they have special relationships with certain drivers, but this is not true at all. Basically, it is a "crap shoot" as to what driver bids on your order. The date and time of the pickup and delivery is also a crap shoot. Basically, these "brokers" do nothing, and charge between $100 and $300 for simply placing your order on the national load board. They are merely middle-men in the worst sense of the word. Although some customers seem happy with Magic Carpet, I was not. I placed my order with Magic Carpet on 6-23-2011. My vehicle was a VW Eurovan going from Connecticut to California. As of 7-18-2011 (25 days), my vehicle was not picked up by a driver. I was given various excuses i.e., it's a busy time of the year; my specific route was filled; drivers don't like vans; etc. I was also told that I would have a better chance of getting my vehicle picked up if I raised the price. My original quote was $1,063, and I went all the way up to $1360, but still no luck, so I cancelled my order. Beware of low quotes by companies such as Magic Carpet. They bait you with a low quote, then charge you a higher price. I found the business practices of this company, and the industry as a whole, to be quite dishonest and despicable. I feel sorry for the employees who work for them. The employees have to make promises (price quotes) they can't keep. Again, Susan Garrison is not to blame. It's her company and the industry as a whole. Further, the reason Magic Carpet gets so many good reviews is that they pay their customers a $30 rebate for each review submitted.

Tom, our greatest apologies for the fact we did not get your vehicle transported. We as brokers do not have control over the availability of the carriers or the price they will take for a load on a given route. We did as a broker based on our relationship, experience and standing in the industry give our all to get this transport done for you. Our regret is that we could not make things happen for you. We wish you the best! The management team
