Background: I purchased a BMW 530i over the internet after @ 2.5 weeks of questions, inspections, and photos/emails from the seller. The next thing I need to do was to get the car to Atlanta, GA from Sonoma, CA. Luckily for me, the seller has a friend in the auto-auction business and he referred me to United for the transport of the car. We phoned United on a Monday night to make arrangements, which included paying in full (per the represenatative, no deposit required - this way, if you cancel before the pickup you get a full refund; versus losing the deposit at other companies); made sense to me so I paid. The rep told me she was going to "put the call out right away for pickup" and I should recieve a call soon. I called United on Tuesday evening and was told that it could take 1-7 days just to schedule the pickup (that wasn't told to me when I made the inital arrangements, but no problem). By Thursday night, I had not heard from United. So I called Tony at MCT Transport on Friday morning. Within 2 hours Tony responded to let me know he was working on it. Within another 1.5 hours Tony phoned to let me know he had someone that could pickup the vehicle the following Monday. What I didn't say earlier is that I needed the car picked up by Monday because the person who was going to sign off on the bill of lading had to go out of town, and had to leave the pickup location by 1 p.; so if Tony's info was correct, it was going to work out perfectly for me. Tony used Pioneer for my pickup and not only was the driver there before 1, he gave my contact plenty of notice to get to the pickup location. BTW: I did have to pay a deposit to Tony; but I didn't have to pay it until the day the car was picked up. That way, if I cancelled, No charges to my credit card and no refund necessary!
My car arrived today, Monday, June 15 - exactly 1 week to the day! And mostly likely, to the hour (my car arrived at 11:30 a EST) of pickup. The driver was wonderful. Very nice, polite, personable, and respectful of the car.
I can't thank Tony enough. In my anxiousness of dealing with all of this over the phone, I peppered him with questions, looked at the BBB.org to look up Pioneer Auto; read reviews - which led to more questions of Tony... In all of this, he was kind, understanding, and extremely patient. He said to me: Don't worry; be happy. Let me worry about everyting - you just relax. Your car will be there safe and sound. And he was right! Tony's responsiveness, commitment, and reasurring demeanor was just what the doctor ordered for me and I am grateful to him. If you need your car transported, you COULDN'T be in better hands than Tony's. There is something to be said for personal service; sometimes, a big company is just not the answer!
Pioneer Auto Transport - thank you also. The driver Hong was absolutely wonderful. I was given a tentative delivery date of June 15 or June 16. Not only did he exceed that, but I was called the Sunday before to let me know what time he was expected and given a 2-hour lead time the day of to allow me to get to the drop off location. Thank you Hong!
Oh and yes, car arrived safe; no damage.
Overall, my experience with Tony and Pioneer was EXCELLENT!!!!!!!
