I learned the hard way to NOT use a company that asks for a deposit. I was told my vehicle would be picked up in 1 to 3 days. This was BEFORE I provided my deposit and signed the contract with Linear. Once the contract was signed I heard nothing for days. Each time I emailed or called they tried to convince me it would not be long till a carrier is assigned.


PLEASE DO NOT......give money up front and make sure the contract you sign says what YOU want it to say NOT the broker!

I rarely if ever take time to survey a company after gettign horrible service but in this case we are talking about hundreds of $$$$ not a $5 meal at a fast food place.

Go with a company that has their own trucks AND does not require a deposit!

As the paragraph above states, this site accounts for fewer than 2% of the customers we deal with. As a company that facilitates the transport of about 200 vehicles a month we take great pleasure in what we do and do our best to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. In this case, it’s apparent that our customer was unhappy by the service we provided for him. As a company we secure a deposit for most transports of $150.00 which is our fee for our role. We secure a deposit at the time of reservation to ensure there is a vehicle to be transported and basically show commitment. All brokers collect a fee for doing their job. We don’t make it a common practice to do work for free. This customer suggests that you (the customer) do not use a company that secures a deposit up front which is entirely up to you. Our experience suggests that most companies that do not charge a deposit up front are not doing so because they want to appear like a company with more integrity but because they worry about losing their merchant privileges with the credit card companies from excessive charge backs initiated by unsatisfied customers. We have gone through substantial background investigation to ensure legitimacy with our operation and are periodically subject to random audits to ensure we are maintaining ethical business practices. What this customer conveniently left out is the fact that his deposit was refunded IN FULL. We don’t hold customers hostage if we are unable to fulfill out end of the contract. Just take this into consideration before booking with ANY company…If a company takes the time to sent you a contract, READ IT. If you have questions, ASK QUESTIONS. Do your research, PLEASE. Check out the Better Business Bureau (you will find that most companies are not registered for fear of documented complaints) and the FMCSA web site for licensing information.
