Don't trust what these guys promise you over the phone!! I informed Ligtning Auto Carriers two weeks prior to the 1st available date of when to pick up my car. I actually could have had my car picked up 3-4 days prior to the pick-up date. But after speaking with Nick, he told me when my 1st available date should be so that the car did not beat me to the destination and I would have no one there to sign for it. He verbally told me that he needs a 48 hour window of when the car would be picked up. I was lead to believe and reassured that my car would be picked up within 48 hours of that window no problem at all. This was iterated several times. When my car was not picked up on the 1st available date and was not scheduled to be picked up on the next day, I called to find out what was going on. Any minute now was his response. After this I did not hear back from Nick at all. No phone calls, no e-mails, nothing. It seemed to me that I was being scammed. I felt that Lightning came in with a lower offer and if they could not get anyone to pick up, no big deal. After an entire week, I called Nick back and told him I had no confidence that he was working to get this moved and I was considering trying to find an alternate way to get the car to me. The first thing he said was. "Your deposit is non-refundable if cancelled in 10 business days." That further lead me to believe that I was being scammed. I was already paying a rental car bill and a relative of mine offered to drive it down, so I agreed. At the end of the 10th business day (12 calendar days from the 48 hour window he needed), I get a call from Nick. I found a driver and he should be there later today. Amazing. He gets his commission and I have no way of knowing if a driver would have actually came.
