I had a limited amount of time to get from point A to point B. 14 days before I was due in California from New England I began my search again for a reliable and honest transport company. I originally had arrangements with another company in which I was guaranteed a really great rate that went from $1050, so I signed the paperwork and thought that it was a done deal. Well sometimes things are just too easy, a few days went by, I received an email and lastly phone call from a person customer relations department and somehow my quote went from $1050 to $1250 and finally to $1600 at this point a little panic set in.I all got from them was an apology and that they wouldn't hold me to the contract due to the CR mistake but would be happy to enter into a new contract for a new quote. Are they freaking kidding me? There was no way on this earth I would deal with such incompetence which made my last week+ basically a complete nightmare. I was given all sorts of inaccurate and just downright false information; it definitely didn't help that I was familiar with what to expect from a transport co. and they all have the same sorry line to beware of other companies promises that they know they can't follow through with. At one point everyone wanted to transport my vehicle because they thought that I was desperate and so I definitely go the run around from," your vehicle is oversize and takes up 2 space so I would need to pay an additional rate to your vehicle has to make multiple connections so another additional charge, oh and of course the old gas price are up and you guessed it more money". Wow! Who did they think they were dealing with an amateur? Unbeknownst to transport companies my dad owns a honest trucking company and I am familiar with certain tactics. Well lets go back a little from day my initial search began I received a phone call from Max(Koban Logistics Rep) and at that time I declined the offer for services because I thought the deal was sealed with the 'pass the buck idiots'. How ironic that I got another phone call, by you guessed it Max. However, I was exhausted by this time and came to terms with my vehicle being stored and spending thousands in car rental fees. Well Max asked me to give his company a chance to get my car to its destination so hesitantly I agreed out of curiosity and he assured me that unless Koban Logistics got my vehicle shipped on time that I would not incur any fees and he was true to his word. He was faced with some of same B/S but he was determined to get my car shipped it was time for me to leave vehicle was left behind with a friend:-(. I had my hopes up for a minute then it hit me I located the contract from my last transportation company & they were great, but again no luck. Max gave it a few more tries and right when I was boarding the plane to California my cell ranged, I recognized the number and said" Hi Max was sup? He had great news for me not only did find the same company that I used in the past which was not listed on that notorious board that causes a bidding war between drivers but he was able to get them to pick up my vehicle the day after I left just as I had originally planned. Vehicle arrived 4 days early and all was intact. Although I was kinda the glue between Koban & the driver Max went above and beyond to get my vehicle shipped and was not going to accept payment for his hard work. It was only fair that he was compensated he stayed in contact with me and always returned my phone calls, working overtime to make my hopes of having my car where I needed it to be and most importantly never providing false or misleading information. He also negotiated a deal with the transporter so my final cost $1350 which was what most companies quoted but at the end everyone became money sharks some as excessive as 2k+ except, you guessed it again Koban Logistics. I don't actually have a need to use them again because I now have a direct connection with the drivers. However, as a business owner myself I know good quality customer service when I receive it and I would absolutely use them again. Max ultimately made it all happen and me and my enormous SUV (Not!) are doing just fine enjoying California for the next 2 months or who knows:-).............. You made my frown turn upside down. Keep up the good work and hope the rest of the staff is as dedicated as Max......:-) God Bless you all.
