I contracted with K1 Auto Carrier of Gardena, California to transport a seven month old Mazda 3 to my son who is active duty army stationed at Fort Benning, GA. K1's pickup was on time and the initial damage survey of my car was done very carefully. The car at the time of pickup was seven months old and had approximately 12,000 miles on the odometer. I waxed the car myself the day before pickup so I knew without doubt that there was no damage to the car.

The delivery date was not met and since my son is in the army, schedule was very important as his days are not flexible. Upon inquiry with K1 Auto Carrier, I was informed that the truck delivering had a mechanical failure. I became suspicious because the driver told my son that the truck was broken down in El Paso, Texas and K1 dispatch told me it was in Mississippi but refused to tell me either the reason for the breakdown or the exact location in Mississippi. The cars was delivered as intended to my son four days late and the reason for the delay: K1 Auto Carrier extensively damaged my car at their terminal. The damage included a broken rear window, and crushed rear end. Rather than telling of the problem, K1 Auto Carrier had the car repaired in a horribly deficient manner, including using an inferior rear window, not repairing under carriage damage and safety issues such as not re-connecting the rear and brake lights. K1 refuses to remedy the situation and make the car right.

I bought this car for my son to use while in training prior to deployment which I assume will be later this year. The plan was that just prior to deployment, the car would be sold. K1 Auto Carrier has refused to correct the damage and now will not return or even accept my phones calls. To do this to anyone is awful but to cheat an active duty military person in service to his country is despicable.
