My husband and I had to move cross-country for a job so we decided to ship the car instead of driving it. I booked my car in May 2010 for pick up in July. I was assured over and over again, given enough time, the car will arrive in California around the last week of July. I spoke with Lori a few times who seemed nice enough, she said this is a routine trip and there are many carriers that go cross-country especially at this time of the year. Mid July came and went with SEVERAL attempts to contact JMAC Auto Transport and no answer. One time we got connected and someone else in the office picked up the phone and forgot to put the phone on hold, Lori said “I don’t know what to tell her, I can’t find anyone to pick up the phone. Just tell her I’ll call her back later.” Two days later still no call. Finally the last week of July I was livid and they have used up all my patience. I spoke to Marcus the owner who doesn’t care AT ALL about you and your business. He spoke to me once with the promise to find me a carrier and again after calling every half hour, I got in contact with Lori again who said she can’t find Marcus. HE SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED THIS COMPANY IS STILL OPERATING. If an owner doesn’t care about customer satisfaction, PLEASE SHUT DOWN. There is no honor in running a business you don’t care about. After over two dozen phone calls, a dozen e-mails, and hours of aggravation, I demanded a refund.
This company cost me about a thousand dollars of added expenses not including the cost of actually shipping my car with another company. I paid for car rental at $75 a day for 2 weeks and paid an “expedited charge” to get my car picked up sooner with another company. JMAC Auto Transport is a disgrace of a business and I would only recommend this company to those who wish to inflict great stress and aggravation on him or herself. STAY AWAY if you actually need your car shipped.
