Great transport, customer service could be improved

Gran Turismo's biggest advantage is that rather than being a broker that will simply put a request on some BBS and look for a driver for you, they have their own fleet. Second advantage is that they are encolosed-only and are very much used to transporting extremely expensive cars.

They really came through to me in a bind I recently had moving a car from NC to CA; I initially tried using a broker, that basically couldn't find me a driver for two weeks - even though I put in the request well ahead of time - and when they did find a driver it was expensive and going to take a long, long time.

Gran Turismo was recommended by one of the excellent people at the dealer in NC, and they basically got the car picked up in 5 days (which was longer than they told me it would take, but still better than the broker) and delivered in record time (bottom line: my car was the last one to be picked up and first one to be dropped off!).

They did an amazingly precise pre-ship inspection, and the car got to its destination in pristine condition.

However, as a couple of other reviewers said, Customer Service (the guys on the phone, including the owners) could be better; they weren't good at all about keeping me posted on the pickup date (which is obviously important), and they generally seemed to be rushing and dismissive. Having said that, it's true that many other shippers are just as jaded. It would be great though if they offered real-time status from their website - no need to bug them and would make people much happier.

The driver was superb though (I guess they screen their drivers pretty well, after all in many cases they're carrying more than a million dollars worth of cars). Very nice, careful and friendly.
