I would make sure you ask all the right questions. I had never shipped a car before and went down the line of quotes I received. I found Ellen to be kind and I got a good vibe. I explained I needed to ship our vehicle the coming Friday and she said no problem. I checked with her during the week and she said she was working on it. This confused me but thought everything was going to be all good based on her reviews. When Friday came, I called to find out when the pickup was going to happen and she told me she didn't have a truck yet. We had no where to put our car because we were leaving the area for good. Ellen claimed she explained all of this to me but she did not.

If you're shipping a car you are only speaking to a broker that puts your vehicle on a board and waits for drivers to pick it up. This is important to know. You have to be very flexible with your timeline to make it happen. If no drivers are going from point A to B you're out of luck. Also, if the price the broker puts on the board is too low, no truck will take your car.

Needless to say I was upset. Ellen and I had words since she claimed she explained all this to me which she didn't. She later called me back and said she would try her best to get it shipped. She did find us a truck about a week or so later. The cost was roughly $500 more than what we were quoted and when it came time to pay her fees, she said there is a $45 listing fee on top of the $150 broker fee. When I explained to her that she never disclosed that fee, her response was "my bad". At that point I had no choice but to pay the additional cause we needed my wife's car.

A week or so after we got the car, I noticed that Ellen had charged me twice. She charged me $150 on one date and then $195 on another. After posting a review about her she sent me a not so great email but she did refund me the $195.

All in all, as a customer I should have been better informed of the shipping process myself but I also feel that as my broker, Ellen should have told me everything. She did help us but I felt she didn't fully disclose everything as she should have.

I absolutely hate that I am again responding to a negative review based on a clients frustration with this industry. I do my utmost absolute best to be as informative about how the process works, often writing multiple emails and answering every single question as needed. I work seven days a week as a broker for the last 11 years scheduling peoples moves often last minute and aligning their schedule with a carriers schedule. This is no easy task and quite often I have to bear the brunt of someones frustration. I understand and am willing to work with all scenarios and time frames always advising of the best option for my client. Client requested a quote in April and never called until June. He also needed it picked up in 4 days. I did my best to get him the best carrier last minute and at a good rate. I can only present the option and client has the choice to accept which he did and he was scheduled as desired and delivered in 6 days. Of course I answered every question and sent all information to email. He researched my company and read my reviews and chose me above all others. He was not happy that the rate changed 3 months later and for that he has written his review. He was never overcharged for services although there was a glitch that immediately was corrected and his vehicle was picked up and delivered seamlessly. I have done all I can do to be the best broker to each and every one of my clients and I will continue to do so. Please call me anytime if I can answer anything at all. Ellen Kealey 919-623-1618
