This was my first experience ever shipping a car, and I was extremely glad that I had Matt at GetCarrier to assist me. I really didn’t know where to start other than googling how to ship a car. I found that quite a few of the websites where you type in your information goes out to multiple associated carriers and you get immediate responses based upon your vehicle configuration and to/from zip codes. I had prices quoted as low as $800 and as high as $1800. Based upon BBB reviews I decided to go with GetCarrier who was somewhat in middle between my high and low prices. I can’t remember the source, but I did read up that the lowest bid may not necessarily be able to actually book for that quoted price. The higher tiered price is a sure bet, and middle of the road works out great as it did for me if you have a few tails on the tail end of things to get a “best-value” price. Upon signing a contract with GetCarrier (you can get out of it if 5 days have lapsed from your origination date if nothing is booked) I waited only 2 business days before Matt had secured a shipper for my Suburban to move from a dealership in PA to my home in CA. I essentially live at the end of a dead end highway literally 80-ish miles off the freeway, so Matt was upfront that it might be difficult to get someone to come to my home, but he was able to do it. Once Matt found a carrier, my credit card was charged $150 for the deposit, and I paid cash for the remaining balance directly to the truck driver. Although I live in a residential neighborhood, the truck dropped my suburban off right at my front door. Overall it was a great experience and Matt was always available to field my questions for status. I had that gut feel after talking to about a dozen carriers that GetCarrier was more reputable and although most of us don’t use an auto transport service on a regular basis and won’t be a returning customer, that didn’t matter to them and they were more than helpful to assist me.
