I contracted for 2 vehicles to be transported from CT to CO. I contracted with a company called AAA Advantage and they subcontracted with Gentle Touch. Of course I knew nothing of this until after the fact. The pickup was exactly 1 week after the available date and was 4 days after we were promised the cars would be picked up. Of course we rented a car for the week that we would be without our cars assuming the transporter would arrive when we had been told. After two days of paying for a rental car and no sign of the transporter we took the rental car back. We probably spent almost 15 hours on the phone that week with AAA and couldn't get a straight answer out of anyone. Eventually got someone senior in the company and they guaranteed us a pickup on Thursday. Never happened. We were leaving CT Friday afternoon and so were in a panic at this point. More phone calls - eventually we get a call from a driver who tells us he can't come to the house; we have to find a car park near the highway to meet him and of course he won't take us home afterward. Eventually get the cars picked up 1/2 hour after we were supposed to leave for the airport and have to pay for a limo to pick us up and get us to teh airport on time.
Same story on delivery - promised several dates & times even by the driver. He eventually showed up two days after he promised and one of the vehicles was damaged. Amazing that his transporter was full - he must have been diverting to pick other vehicles up while he was telling us he was on his way to us. Scott Ruppelius the owner is not a reputable guy - I'm in the process of suing this company; Scott's offered me $150 for $2k in damage. Stay tuned but please heed the negatives - I would be wary of the 5 start reviewers.
Pay the extra and go with a reputable company like DAS. I regret the day I signed this contarct just to save a few hundred dollars. It's already cost me more than that in rentals cars, limo and that doesn't include the aggravation and frustration. Both AAA and Gentle Touch are to be avoided at all cost.
